5 Reasons Why You Should Stay at W Singapore Sentosa Cove
I might be biased, but having had the privilege to celebrate my hen’s night AND birthday at W Singapore Sentosa Cove last year has convinced me that it’s one of the best hotels in Singapore to have a staycation in.
Located in the exclusive enclave of Sentosa Cove, the luxurious W Singapore Sentosa Cove is truly in a class of its own. This is apparent once you enter the lobby, where plush lounges and hanging egg swings hint at its decadence. There are even two lifts to transport you from the entrance to the lobby, or the equivalent of about 20 steps on the staircase.
Here are five reasons why you should stay at the W Singapore Sentosa Cove:
1. Awesome rooms with panoramic views
There are no lack of superlatives that can be attached to the rooms in W, so much so that the hotel has taken the liberty to name their rooms “Wonderful”, “Spectacular”, “Fabulous” and their suites “Marvelous”, “Fantastic” and “WOW! Rightfully so, since their ornate and funky designs, mood lighting and branded amenities differentiate them from your run-of-the-mill hotel room. It’s also not everyday that you get to wake up to a view of the Marina at Sentosa Cove. Trust me when I say that there is something unbelievably zen about lounging on the day-bed in the morning and just watching the seagulls swoop among the boats.
2. Relax… in many corners
Let’s face it – the whole point of going on a staycation is to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and fully immerse in total relaxation. What’s wonderful about the W is the fact there are ample opportunities for you to do this all around the hotel. Be it comfy bean bags, sprawling day beds, or swinging hammock beds (my personal favourite!), you’re spoiled for choice!
3. 24-hour Swimming Pool.
Need we say more? In the day, you can spend hours having fun in the pool with the balls, floats and even water guns provided by the hotel. Sit by the bar counter with a cocktail, or enjoy your drink as you lounge on the outdoor jacuzzi beds. At night, unlike most hotel pools that close by 11pm (or earlier), you can float in the expansive W pool till the wee hours, chatting with your loved ones or just admiring the stars (or the beautiful hotel design). It also helps that there are floating mattresses available so you don’t even have to exercise your water-threading skills. A note of caution: there are no lifeguards on duty after — so float at your own risk!
4. The Amazing Away Spa
Have you ever heard of a hotel spa that still allows for guest access even after you check out? The Away Spa offers this incredible service to guests and allows them full access to the spa facilities and even the pool! And mind you, this is no ordinary spa. Unlike normal hotels with the standard steam bath and sauna options, this spa includes all sorts of funky options like the hot and cold plunge pool, the rainshower room that is LOTS OF FUN, and a massage room with a stone bed you can lie on and have water pound out your sore spots. All for FREE as long as you’re a guest at the hotel.
5. Hearty Breakfast & Brunch
The W breakfast at The Kitchen Table is just as decadent as its rooms, with a delicious spread ranging from local delicacies to international brunch options. Their attention to detail is evident in their innovative displays of fresh juices, salads in mason jars and freshly baked croissants. Unlike certain stuffy hotels where you might feel compelled to dress up, the whimsical decor of the restaurant provides for a fun and relaxing atmosphere. It’s no wonder that it has been hailed by the top food blogs as one of the best champagne brunches in Singapore.
I’m usually inclined to new experiences, but W Singapore Sentosa Cove is one hotel I would definitely want to return to again and again. Because honestly, there are just too many reasons to stay there!
